Hot Metal
Harley-Davidson’s Pittsburgh-Country themed “Dahn-Than Hoe-Dahn” drew a huge
crowd on August 15th! The weather was beautiful, the bikes were
plentiful and there were many prizes to go around.
This event was
one of Hot Metal Harley-Davidson’s biggest of the year with free food, free
beer, live music by the Justin Fabus Band, a mechanical bull and prizes and
giveaways every hour.
In addition
to our Open House, Colin Harding who is a Life scout, was working on his Eagle Rank from
Troop 323 out of Whitehall PA during the event.
Colin along with the help of Hot Metal Harley-Davidson was able to
raise over $2,400 in Donations. With the help of the Mon-Valley HOG chapter donated
$700. Eight scouts and their parents
came to help as well as Colin's Family.
All Donations collected by Colin will be presented to Children's
Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. The proceeds will be used to supply the Teen
Center and the playrooms with items that are not normally received by general
donations.
The $700 from the Mon Valley HOG chapter will be used to purchase a
projector (so that they can have "drive-in movie" night) and the
balance will purchase an apple TV, outdoor Play houses, a train table, video
games, soccer balls, Barbie’s, Legos and more!
In addition
to donations, there were many prizes given away at event. Gift Cards redeemable at Hot Metal
Harley-Davidson were given out to mechanical
bull-riding participants every hour. A
Gift Certificate to Pino’s Contemporary Italian Restaurant and two Pittsburgh
Penguins tickets were raffled off as well as an autographed Mario Lemieux
hockey puck.
Hot Metal
Harley-Davidson would also like to thank our vendors who participated including
Iron City Beer, Identity Crisis Design, Old Allegheny Smoke Shop, and Thunder
Roads Magazine.
